![]() Just give me my doors, locks, keys, switches, in a complex level. No caves, no shrines, nothing to break up the traveling and occasional enemy. ![]() So far the underground of this game has been really disappointing and it’s more of the same wandering around fighting the same things but this time in the dark with red pools of death. When I played Elden ring and I went underground, it was a whole city with amazing level design, new enemies, new bosses, hours of compelling gameplay. Just get me to the part where things are happening and I have to use these skills in rapid succession to overcome a level. I’ll ride around till I find a shrine or something and just spend time reaching it. Now I travel 10 minutes across a piece of land, maybe I find a cave, about 90% of the time the cave will be the same kind of thing as all other caves. I need concentrated gameplay, that’s what Zelda games used to give. I want something complex that takes multiple steps and really deep thinking to solve, use all these mechanics for something more than just “you can do it if you want” no give me a really good reason to do it. Shrines are still tiny bite sized puzzles that rarely stretch the concepts in them to anything more than tutorial level. Guy with a sign again, same Korok stuff again, a base enemies (though the larger ones are better) again, the same mini bosses again (haven’t fought the big new one yet). ![]() I don’t get how this level of openness is so great, I am spending so much time just wandering and when I find something it’s the most mundane simple of little activities, that is not fulfilling to me. Now I haven’t done a dungeon yet, so we will see but all the same issues I have are pretty much present. Game is still great but after many hours playing it’s clearly still BOTW with just better mechanics. ![]()
